Life at SRP
We’re committed to providing our military and civilian employees with a happy work-life balance and the resources they need to succeed.
One of those resources is SRPVets. This Employee Resource Group meets regularly to promote the understanding of military culture throughout SRP. The goal of this group is to use lessons learned in the military to foster and enhance everyone’s leadership skills.

FAQ
Read on for answers to the most commonly asked questions about careers for veterans at SRP.
Each of the armed services provides world-class technical training to ensure that military personnel are up to any challenge. SRP's military skills translator helps veterans understand how their military experience aligns with different positions at SRP. This translator doesn't cover every position at SRP, but it does include the positions we most often hire for, positions that are hard to fill and hourly workforce occupations at SRP.
There are currently no positions at SRP that require security clearance. However, SRP values technical training and will consider all qualifications in evaluating candidate readiness for positions at SRP.
SRP sponsors two registered apprenticeship programs. The first, the Joint Apprenticeship Corporate Committee (JACC), is co-managed by the IBEW Local 266. It includes the trades of auto mechanic, cable splicer, construction and maintenance man, lineman, machinist, metal fabricator, meterman, plant electrician, plant mechanic and substation electrician. The Relay Apprenticeship & Training Committee (ATC) manages SRP's salaried Relay Technician apprenticeship program.
Candidates for the JACC program must be current SRP employees to qualify for one of these apprenticeships. The ATC program accepts both internal and external bidders. All trades require educational prerequisites, and interested candidates should contact the Apprenticeship Office for more information.
The advertisement period lasts from mid-January to the end of February each year. During that time, the Apprenticeship Team conducts informational meetings and packet review clinics. The application period opens for 10 days at the beginning of March, and the behavioral interviews start the first week of April. Trade orientations take place the second week of April. These are followed by technical interviews and final selections. Indenture is on the first pay period in May.
Consideration may be given to military qualifications presented on Joint Services Transcripts. SRP is a certified military educational institution, and Joint Services Transcripts may be sent directly to the Salt River Project Apprenticeship Program. Non-apprenticeship submissions will be forwarded to Talent Acquisition. SRP accepts the American Council for Education (ACE) recommendations for college credits presented on the Joint Services Transcripts.

Your DD214 is the ultimate proof of your dates of military service and the type of your discharge. However, your Joint Services Transcript will allow SRP to more accurately evaluate your military service for possible consideration. SRP is a certified military educational institution, and Joint Services Transcripts may be sent directly to the Salt River Project Apprenticeship Program. Non-apprenticeship submissions will be forwarded to Talent Acquisition. SRP accepts the American Council for Education (ACE) recommendations for college credits presented on the Joint Services Transcripts.
In this case, your benefits will remain in place for up to one year from the date of your active service. You'll also have the option to switch to TRICARE before the end of that year.
Your leave benefits begin on the effective date for active duty. You'll need to supply orders to SRP to document this date.
SRP is a registered educational institution with the Department of Veterans Affairs. We may be able to certify certain on-the-job training programs that would allow you to use your VA education benefits.
