SRP Community Irrigation Revitalization Initiative (CIRI)
See our plans to conserve water by helping repair and revitalize eligible private flood irrigation systems in the Valley.
Committed to water conservation
SRP is committed to conserving 5 billion gallons of water as part of our 2035 Sustainability Goals. One way we’re working to achieve that goal is through a new pilot program, the Community Irrigation Revitalization Initiative (CIRI). Some private flood irrigation systems in the Valley are aging and need significant repairs. CIRI aims to empowers neighborhoods across the Valley to maximize the benefits of flood irrigation by revitalizing eligible systems to deliver water more efficiently. While CIRI provides one-time support for improvements, SRP does not provide long-term funding assistance to maintain the system, which remains the responsibility of the property owners.
Assisting with the cost of repairs
CIRI helps connect eligible neighborhoods with SRP and community partners who help with the costs of upfront repairs and improvements, such as:
Adding covers and grates to prevent clogs |
|
Piping, lining or repairing parts of the system to improve water delivery |
|
Upgrading equipment to reduce maintenance demands on neighborhoods |
Your neighborhood soaks up the benefits
Making repairs to your irrigation system helps improve its efficiency and conserve Arizona’s most precious resource.
CIRI is a community-based partnership to help eligible neighborhoods maximize the community benefits of flood irrigation.

SRP is interested in assisting with these repairs to help conserve water while empowering the communities we serve — two key pillars of our 2035 Sustainability Goals.
CIRI funding is provided by SRP and our community partners as a one-time direct investment to repair and improve the private flood irrigation system. However, SRP does not provide long-term funding assistance to maintain the system, which remains the responsibility of the property owners. Eligible participants will be contacted by SRP with more details, including the construction schedule. In some cases, SRP may require participants to sign an access agreement.
