Conserve 6-9 p.m. and Save

Save on the energy you buy from SRP when you limit your energy use during on-peak hours (when energy is more expensive to produce) and shift your use to super off-peak hours.

On this page:

    How it works

Conserve 6-9 p.m. and Save has no monthly demand charge. That means you only pay for the energy you use from the grid. At the end of the billing cycle, a credit will be applied for all accumulated export generation at a fixed rate of 2.81 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

It’s all based on metering technology that allows separate tracking of kWh delivered and kWh exported on an instantaneous basis.

The Conserve 6-9 p.m. and Save plan might be right for you if:

    • You prefer a plan with no demand charge and want a simpler approach to energy management.
    • You have a fully electric home and use your air conditioner or heater frequently, especially during on-peak hours.
    • You have a tankless electric water heater.

How to save on this plan

You can save the most on this plan when using energy supplied directly from your rooftop solar system. Keep in mind that cloud cover, shade and the time of year all impact energy production.

When using energy supplied by SRP, you can save the most when you limit your energy use during on-peak hours (when energy is more expensive to produce) and shift your usage to off-peak hours.

    Pricing

    Energy charge
Energy is priced per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and your monthly energy charge is based on the amount of energy used at on-, off- and super off-peak times during your billing cycle. Super off-peak times — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day — offer the lowest prices.
    Monthly service charge (MSC)
Your MSC, which helps cover the costs of customer service, billing and your connection to the grid, is currently $20 (or $32.44 or $45.44 if you’re a solar customer).

Starting with the November 2025 billing cycle, your MSC will be based on which MSC tier you are in.

    Tier 1

If you’re in a multifamily home (apartment, condominium, townhome), your MSC will be $20.

    Tier 2

If you’re in an average single-family home, your MSC will be $30.

    Tier 3

If you’re in a larger-than-average single-family home with high power usage (i.e., you have multiple pool pumps, EV charging stations and/or multiple AC units), your MSC will be $40. About 3% of SRP residential customers fall into this category.

    How export rates work

The amount of energy used in your home is instantaneously monitored and recorded by your meter. This allows SRP to see the exact amount of energy from the grid you use as well as any excess energy you generate, which gets credited back to you.

This is different from net metering — used on the Customer Generation and Average Demand plans — in which the excess kWh is subtracted from the delivered kWh to arrive at a net kWh number.
