Manage Demand 5-10 p.m. and Save — Solar
Save on the energy you buy from SRP when you limit your energy use during on-peak hours (when energy is more expensive to produce) and shift your use to super off-peak hours.
On this page:
How it works
With this plan, you can save the most when using energy supplied directly from your rooftop solar system. Keep in mind that cloud cover, shade and the time of year all impact energy production.
When using energy supplied by SRP, save by limiting your energy use and demand during the more expensive on-peak times weekdays from 5–10 p.m. year-round.
Enjoy lower energy prices during all other weekday hours, weekends and on six observed holidays.
You’ll get even lower prices during super off-peak hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day.
Lowest-cost energy (super off-peak)
8 a.m.–3 p.m. every day
Higher-cost energy (on-peak)
5–10 p.m. Monday–Friday*
All other times (off-peak)
Pricing
Energy charge — Energy is priced per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and your monthly energy charge is based on the amount of energy used at on-, off- and super off-peak times during your billing cycle. Super off-peak times — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day — offer the lowest prices.
Monthly service charge (MSC) — Your MSC helps cover the costs of customer service, billing and your connection to the grid.

Tier 1
If you’re in an apartment, condominium or townhome, your MSC will likely be $20.

Tier 2
If you’re in an average single-family home, your MSC will likely be $30.

Tier 3
If you’re in a larger-than-average single-family home with high power usage (i.e., you have multiple pool pumps, EV charging stations and/or multiple AC units), your MSC will likely be $40.
Demand charge — The demand charge is based on 60-minute intervals during on-peak hours when your home uses the most electricity and that electricity is most expensive.
How to save on this plan
You can save the most on this plan when using energy supplied directly from your rooftop solar system. Keep in mind that cloud cover, shade and the time of year all impact energy production.
When using energy supplied by SRP, you can save the most when you limit your energy use during on-peak hours (when energy is more expensive to produce) and shift your usage to off-peak and super off-peak hours.
Air conditioning To maximize comfort and savings, we recommend you precool your home for two off-peak hours (from 3–5 p.m.) by setting your thermostat 3 degrees cooler than your typical setting. During on-peak hours (5–10 p.m.), adjust your thermostat 2-3 degrees hotter than your typical setting. During super off-peak periods (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.), you can set your thermostat to whatever temperature you are comfortable with. |
|
Electric Vehicles To maximize your savings, charge your electric vehicle(s) during super off-peak periods. If you need to charge your vehicle outside of super off-peak periods, try to avoid on-peak times. |
|
Other appliances Shift as much of your energy use to super off-peak and off-peak periods. To maximize your savings, appliances that use more energy should be shifted to super off-peak periods, including: washing machine and dryer, pool or spa and dishwasher. |
How export rates work
The amount of energy used in your home is instantaneously monitored and recorded by your meter. This allows SRP to see the exact amount of energy from the grid you use as well as any excess energy you generate, which gets credited back to you.
This is different from net metering – used on the Customer Generation and Average Demand plans – in which the excess kWh is subtracted from the delivered kWh to arrive at a net kWh number.
