Many of your customers, employees or tenants may own or be considering purchasing an electric vehicle (EV), or you may be looking to electrify your fleet. As an SRP business customer, you can join this rapidly growing market and save money by leveraging SRP's Business EV Charging rebates and Fleet Electrification offering.     EV charging rebates available

    Rebate funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis and the customer’s scope of work. Customers are subject to a maximum rebate of $450,000 from May 1 through April 30 for all SRP Business Solutions Programs, with a cap of $300,000 for Business EV Charging and $50,000 for Electric Technology rebates.

    Rebates are available on:

    Level 2 EV Charger

    $1,500 per networked Level 2 EV charging station port for businesses, and $4,000 per port for government, multifamily, non-profit and school customers.

    DC Fast Charger

    $15,000 per networked DC Fast charging station for businesses, and $20,000 per station for government, multifamily, non-profit and school customers.

    Justice40 Disadvantaged Community

    Level 2 EV Charger: Receive an additional $1,000 rebate per port. DC Fast Charger: Receive an additional $5,000 rebate per station.

    Fleet electrification

    The number of vehicles in the study must meet minimum thresholds to participate. Currently, the following are included:

    What can my business get rebates for?

    • $1,500 per networked Level 2 EV charging station port for businesses and $4,000 per port for government, multifamily, non-profit and school customers. Customers located in a Justice40 Disadvantaged Community can receive an additional $1,000 rebate per station.
      • A typical Level 2 charging port delivers 208/240 volts of electricity to the car battery, similar to what a residential dryer or oven uses.
      • Each hour of charge time uses 4–19.2 kilowatts and will provide 8–20 miles of driving range.
      • The cost for a Level 2 EV charger ranges from $1,000 to $7,000.
      • Rebates are limited to 75 charging ports per customer per program year.
    • $15,000 per networked DC Fast charging station port for businesses and $20,000 per port for government, non-profit and school customers. Customers located in a Justice40 Disadvantaged Community* can receive an additional $5,000 rebate per station.
      • A typical DC Fast Charger delivers 480 volts of electricity to the car battery and is currently the fastest way to charge a vehicle.
      • Each hour of charge time uses 25–350 kilowatts and can charge a vehicle to 80% in 20-30 minutes.
      • The cost for a DC Fast charger ranges from $50,000 to $150,000 depending on the power level and electrical infrastructure requirements.
      • Rebates are limited to three DC Fast charging stations per customer per program year.

    Program resources

    Level 2 requirements

    Hardware requirements

    • Commercial-grade Level 2 EV charging stations
    • An output current of at least 20 amps per port minimum at 208/240 volts
    • A charge connector compliant with SAE J1772
    • EVSE is UL listed
    • Must comply with local building codes

    Software requirements

    • Charging stations equipped with software to control, operate, communicate, diagnose and capture data.
    • Network services, provided by the supplier, that are capable of tracking usage, collecting data, billing customers and managing electrical loads.
    • Software certified to receive an OpenADR 2.0b signal.
    • Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6 compliance or greater.
    • ENERGY STAR® certified or listed on the SRP Eligible Equipment List effective May 1, 2024.

    Factors such as power requirements and siting considerations could impact your equipment and/or installation costs. Consult an SRP Trade Ally to evaluate installation locations and determine your electrical needs.

    How do I get my rebate?

    To be eligible for SRP's Business EV Charging Rebates, you must:

    • Be an SRP business electric customer with an account in good standing.
    • Meet all program and equipment requirements listed above.
    • Install equipment between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. Apply on or before July 31, 2024.

    5 steps to receive your rebate:

    1. Purchase and install the new, eligible equipment. If you have questions, consult an SRP Trade Ally or contact us at (602) 236-3065.
    2. Create an SRP Rebate CenterOpen new site. account to claim your rebate. You will need to have your SRP account number and associated email address.
    3. Follow the steps online to submit your rebate application. Include a dated copy of your sales receipt or invoice with the EV charger model number, purchase date and serial number with your application.
    4. Obtain SRP verification of installation.
    5. Upon approval, receive your rebate check!

    DC fast charger requirements

    Hardware requirements

    • DC Fast Charger rated at 50kW or more at 480 or higher volts.
    • Include a charge connector compliant with CCS, CHAdeMO or NACS.
    • Compliant with NEC article 625.
    • Rated for outdoor usage, NEMA 3R or better and an operating temperature range of 0 to 122F.
    • Shall be network ready – able to communicate with a network management system (NMS) and use Open technical standards
    • ADA compliant

    Software requirements

    • Software to control, operate, communicate, diagnose, and capture data.
    • The supplier shall provide network services capable of tracking usage, collecting data, billing customers, and managing electrical loads.
    • The EVSE software shall be certified to receive an OpenADR 2.0b signal.
    • Open Charge Point Protocol (OCCP) 1.6 compliance or greater.
    • ENERGY STAR® certified or listed on the SRP Eligible Equipment List effective May 1, 2024.

    How do I get my rebate?

    To be eligible for SRP's Business DC Fast Charger Rebates, you must:

    • Be an SRP retail electric customer, taking service under any general service (non-residential) SRP Standard Electric Price Plan.
    • Submit a pre-approval or completed rebate application within the EV program fiscal year of May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. You may apply as late as July 30, 2024 for installations completed within the fiscal year. If pre-approval is provided towards the end of the year or if the project timeframe exceeds the program year, the pre-approval may be honored the following program year subject to new program guidelines and budgets.
    • Be the SRP customer of Record or Account Holder of the SRP account at each proposed site of an EV charger port.
    • Have the legal right and authority to install the EV charger port(s) at the place(s) of business identified on the Rebate Application
    • Provide all valid invoices that show dates of payment for all EVSE claimed and/or invoices for the electrical infrastructure being installed.
    • Incentive is limited to three (3) stations per customer per program year.

    6 steps to receive your DC Fast Charger rebate:

    1. Complete an online applicationOpen new site. to obtain a pre-approval so funds can be allocated for your project. You will need your SRP account number to complete the application. If you have questions, contact us at (602) 236-3065(602) 236-3065 or etechrebates@srpnet.com.
    2. Purchase and install and energize the new, eligible equipment.
    3. Complete your application at the SRP Rebate CenterOpen new site.. You will need to have your SRP account number and associated email address you used to apply for pre-approval.
    4. Follow the steps online to submit your rebate application. Include a dated copy of your sales receipt or invoice with the EV charger model number, purchase date and serial number with your application.
    5. Obtain SRP verification of installation (if requested).
    6. Upon approval, receive your rebate check!

    Fleet electrification program requirements

    To be eligible for the Program, the customer must:

    • Be an SRP non-residential electric customer with an account in good standing.
    • Submit the program application for pre-approval to ensure the program availability.
    • Apply between May 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024, and submit the completed rebate application to SRP by July 31, 2024 (Effective Period).
    • Be located in the SRP service area. Equipment shipped to other facilities outside the SRP service area does not qualify. The assessment may include vehicles or equipment outside the territory, but incentive eligibility will only be based on equipment and vehicles in SRP territory.
    • Meet the minumum vehicle* thresholds below to paticipate:
      • Light-Duty - 20 or more
      • Medium- and Heavy-Duty - 10 or more
      • Mixed Fleet - 10 or more
    *Smaller fleets may qualify for a light fleet assessment. Contact us to see if you qualify.

    4 steps to participate in the Fleet Electrification Program:

    1. Contact a Fleet Electrification Program account manager through your assigned Strategic Energy Manager or contact us at (602) 236-3065 or etechrebates@srpnet.com to set up a scoping call.
    2. Schedule a scoping call with the Fleet Electrification Program account manager to review program requirements and see if your fleet qualifies.
    3. Complete an online applicationOpen new site. to obtain pre-approval so funds can be allocated for your project. You will need your SRP account number to complete the application. If you have questions, contact us at (602) 236-3065 or etechrebates@srpnet.com to request a paper application.
    4. Work with your Fleet Electrification Program account manager to complete your fleet assessment.
