Save up to $420 with the SRP Income-Qualified Discount™

Customers with limited incomes can receive a monthly discount on energy costs. Take the steps below to enroll.

The Economy Price Plan will transition to the SRP Income-Qualified Discount starting Nov. 1.

See if you qualify

You may be eligible for this discount if you meet the following conditions:
  1. You are an SRP customer with an account in your name.
  2. You live at the address where the discount will be received. This address must be your permanent residence.
  3. Your total monthly household income before taxes and/or deductions must be at or below the federal income guidelines below.
  4. Customers between 0%-150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)* will receive a $35 monthly credit.
  5. Customers at 151%-200% of the FPL* will receive a $10 monthly credit.

*Federal income guidelines are subject to change without notice. Current eligibility guidelines define "income" as including, but not limited to, the combined income of all people living in your home including wages or salary, Social Security income, veterans benefits, disability, unemployment and retirement benefits, pensions, rental income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), interest and dividends.

Enrollment

There are three different options for enrolling — choose the one that works best for you:

OPTION 3

Download the application and then return it via email, U.S. mail or fax.

Note: You will need to complete the application and provide proof of income for everyone in your household who has income.

Approval

Confirm your eligibility with proof of income

To confirm your eligibility for the program, SRP will contact you soon after your enrollment via mail or email to let you know of your application status. You can also check your application status in the Price Plans & Programs section on SRP My Account™.

Reapply annually

Customers will need to reapply for the program each year. Here are the different options:

Reapply by mail

Fill out the application SRP mailed to you and make copies of income documents. You can mail back your paperwork using the envelope we’ve included, or you can email pictures of your paperwork to  IQD@srpnet.com.

If your account has recently been removed from the SRP Income-Qualified Discount due to failure to respond to the income verification request but you are still eligible for the program, please call or email us for further instructions.

Plan details

If you receive an SRP bill and the charges are less than the monthly discount, the billed amount will be decreased to $0. For SRP M-Power® customers, the monthly credit will be available on the 1st of each month.

Resource counseling

We know that energy can represent a significant expense, especially to households on tight budgets.

When appropriate, SRP representatives will refer customers to our counseling team. Counselors then link these customers to resources available in the community, such as utility bill assistance, shelter, food, clothing or medical care.

As part of SRP's efforts to provide value to the communities we serve, our counselors also collaborate with our agency partners to conduct energy education workshops and participate in various community events, recommending beneficial SRP programs.
