SRP Buy-Through Program

On January 1, 2024, SRP will begin offering its Buy-Through Program to a limited number of large business customers. Under the Buy-Through Program, a participating customer will direct SRP’s purchase of energy from a third-party provider for the customer’s benefit and at the customer’s expense.

    About the program

A customer participating in the Buy-Through Program will arrange for an eligible third-party generation service provider to sell and deliver energy to SRP to serve that customer’s load. Participation in the Buy-Through Program will be limited to 200 MW of total customer demand and will be available only to customer accounts that are served on the E-63, E-65 or E-67 price plans and that have a minimum annual peak demand of 5 MW, and a minimum average monthly load factor of 60%.

    Stakeholder engagement and Board approval

SRP held online stakeholder engagement sessions on June 27 and July 18 to present and discuss the proposed Buy-Through Program details.

On August 10, SRP management presented details of the proposed Buy-Through Program to SRP’s Board of Directors, and the Board’s Buy-Through Program consultant presented their report. Customers and stakeholders had an opportunity to provide comments in advance of the meeting.

The Board approved the Buy-Through Program on September 26.
