    The annual SRP Water Conservation Expo brings together members of our community to celebrate water in the Valley and discover ways to conserve at home.

    Join us in-person on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at PERAOpen new site. from 8 a.m.–Noon.

    Here’s everything you’ll get to experience at this year’s event:

    • Purchase a smart irrigation controller for $60 plus tax.
    • Enjoy a mini plant sale by Desert Botanical Garden.
    • Discover water conservation products and rebate programs.
    • Attend smart irrigation controller and water-related classes taught by experts.
    • Learn about water conservation and management from SRP and other water professionals.
    • Receive a smart Evolve™ showerhead that shuts down the flow of shower water once it reaches 95 degrees so you waste less pre- shower water (while supplies last). Or, receive an SRP water bottle to stay hydrated.

    How to purchase your Smart Irrigation Controller

    Expo attendees have the option to purchase either a Hunter Pro-HC with Hydrawise® or a Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler controller, which can be purchased at the expo on March 2 or pre-purchased after registering for the expo. The Ewing information for pre-purchase will be included in a registration email confirmation from SRP. All pre-purchased controllers will be available for pickup at PERA on March 2 from 8 a.m. to Noon by presenting a valid receipt (Ewing email confirmation). All orders must be picked up the day of the expo. Orders not picked up will be cancelled.

    Customers may only purchase one of the two available discounted controller options and there is a limit of one controller per household. Controllers are not for flood irrigation.

    Classes at the Expo

    Hunter Smart Irrigation Controller: In this class, you’ll learn how to set up your controller, configure your app, and connect to your Wi-Fi network. You will understand the different watering options available and see how your system uses the world’s most accurate local weather data to fine-tune irrigation according to site needs. Finally, you will learn how irrigation or landscape contractors can enable remote system monitoring for ultimate peace of mind.

    Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller: This class will provide instruction on installing the Rachio controller, zone configurations and schedule types. Additionally, you'll receive training on the Rachio app and how to update settings from your phone.

    Irrigation 101: Whether you plan on doing it yourself or hiring a professional, this class will help you learn what to look for and the questions to ask before you start. Learn about key irrigation components, features, benefits and applications. Special emphasis will be placed on discounted high-efficiency irrigation products available to those attending SRP's Water Conservation Expo. (Note: This class does not cover flood irrigation.) 

    Rainwater Harvesting 101: Curious about how rainwater harvesting can help you to use less water? Join us for an introduction to rainwater harvesting for desert landscapes. In this class we will cover all the basic concepts such as passive vs active systems, earthworks, tanks, planning and design. You will be on your way to planning your own rainwater harvesting project.

    Did you know?

    The expo is the largest one-day distribution of smart irrigation controllers in the nation. Nearly 11,000 smart controllers have been distributed over the past 16 years, which translates into an approximate water savings of about 1.5 billion gallons. This is based on the average household water use of 12,000 gallons per month before installation of a smart controller.
