Checking account purchases

Purchases can be made with your checking account through the SRP M-Power app, online through My Account or by calling us at (602) 236-8888(602) 236-8888. If your checking account information is saved, you can also make a purchase at an SRP retail location. When making a purchase, you must “authorize” the transfer of credit to your meter. (This is a safety measure in case power is being restored.)

Make life easier with the SRP M-Power app

Get the SRP M-Power mobile app to help make purchases a breeze. Setting it up is easy and you can purchase power with the touch of a button anytime, anywhere. Download the app today.

Debit and credit card purchases

Purchases can be made with your credit or debit card through the SRP M-Power App, online through SRP My Account or by calling us at (602) 236-8888(602) 236-8888. We use an outside processor for these purchases, and they charge a $2 fee for each purchase made. SRP does not collect fees for credit or debit card purchases.

Cash purchases

You can make a cash purchase at any participating SRP retail location. To make a cash payment, you’ll need your SRP cash payment card. You can pay with a digital version of the card on the SRP M-Power App or My Account. If you would like a physical copy of the card, you can print one via My Account or request one by calling SRP at (602) 236-8888(602) 236-8888.

Typical startup costs

To get started, the SRP M-Power program requires:

    • A refundable deposit of $102.50
    • A one-time service establishment fee of $30 plus tax for new SRP customers (This fee does not apply to existing customers who switch to the SRP M-Power program)
    • An initial $30 advance to your meter, provided by SRP (This credit will be repaid over time as you make future purchases)
    • Only if you have a display box – a one-time non-refundable fee of $11.50 plus tax

There is also a monthly service fee of $20 plus tax (standard for any SRP price plan) that will be charged to your meter.

Understanding accumulated debt and advances

When you run out of credit and your power still stays on, your account accumulates debt. This can happen during “Friendly Credit” hours (8 p.m.–8 a.m.), Excessive Heat Warnings  issued by the National Weather Service and holidays. Learn more about accumulated debt.

If you’re having trouble making a purchase, you can request an advance. An advance is like a loan. It’s added to the balance of your account and paid back over time through future purchases. You can request an advance in the SRP M-Power App or by calling us at (602) 236-8888(602) 236-8888. Learn more about advances.
