Since early December, SRP employees have been working to help restore power for beleaguered Puerto Ricans who are victims of the largest and longest restoration effort in U.S. history.
SRP employees positioned in the Carolina region of the U.S. territory make up a 10-person Incident Management Team (IMT) working on behalf of the American Public Power Association (APPA).
SRP team members consist of a commander, linemen supervisors, engineer and design supervisors, as well as logistic and safety managers. Each wave is committed to 30 consecutive days during each rotation. Regarded as the worst natural disaster on record in Puerto Rico, the Category 5 hurricane destroyed much of the island’s electrical infrastructure. As PREPA rebuilds its grid, SRP resources provide invaluable insight as SRP is an industry leader in power reliability, system performance, power restoration and customer satisfaction.
Details: Wave 2 employees from SRP, representing cities from Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert and Queen Creek, will return Monday afternoon, February 5. To cover the homecoming, email: Kathleen.Mascarenas@srpnet.com for full details.
Wave 3 consists of four SRP employees.
