Register now for the 2018 Water Conservation Expo.

Online registration is under way for the 2018 Water Expo. Sign up and pre-purchase a smart irrigation controller at a discounted price, attend classes, receive a water-efficient Evolve showerhead and learn from exhibitors.

SRP has distributed more than 5,000 smart irrigation controllers at the previous 10 expos. That translates to approximately 525 million gallons of water saved, based on the average household water use of 12,000 gallons per month before installation. Approximately 8,000 customers have attended and received free water conservation information.

WHAT: Valley residents will learn how to save water and money by participating in the 11th annual SRP Water Conservation Expo, recognized by customers and exhibitors as one of the Valley’s best water-themed events. Over the past 10 years, the SRP Water Expo has grown to become the largest one-day distribution event of Rain Bird "smart" irrigation controllers in the nation.

The free expo’s main draw is the discount on smart irrigation controllers, which use weather data to automatically determine daily watering run times and, when correctly installed, programmed and maintained, can deliver water savings of at least 20 percent over traditional controllers.

The first 1,000 SRP water shareholders or power customers who register for and attend the expo have the option to purchase either a Rain Bird ESP-SMTe smart irrigation controller (retail value $329.85) or a Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller (retail value $249.99) at the expo.

These WaterSense-labeled controllers can be purchased for $50 plus tax, saving 80 to 85 percent over retail price. The three- and six-station expansion modules for the Rain Bird controller will also be sold for significantly discounted prices for expo attendees.

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, March 3, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the SRP PERA Club, 1 E. Continental Drive in Tempe.

WHY: Up to 70 percent of the Phoenix metropolitan area’s water use occurs outdoors, and SRP is committed to water efficiency. In partnership with Valley cities and agencies, SRP provides information and programs that help save water for customers.
