Water management services

Our system is connected to eight municipal water treatment plants, 250 groundwater wells, other irrigation districts, privately owned ditches and the Salt River bed. Because our water delivery system is gravity based, it is one of the most cost-effective means of transporting water from its source to the end-user.

But, SRP offers more than just a state-of-the-art delivery system. We bring to every customer the benefit of our expertise in water resource management. We are pioneers in water wheeling and in developing exchange agreements.

Unique to SRP are the Central Arizona Project/SRP Interconnection Facility (CSIF) and the Granite Reef Underground Storage Project (GRUSP). The CSIF provides opportunities for the transportation or exchanges of Colorado River water. With the advent of water banking, access to their water resource will play an important role in the continued growth of metropolitan Phoenix and the state of Arizona.

Water wheeling

Putting additional water resources to use can be a challenge when the water source is not adjacent to its final end-use.

SRP's water wheeling services can help customers bridge that challenge with our state-of-the-art water delivery system. Central Arizona Project and other non-SRP water supplies can be delivered through SRP's system.

Water exchange services

There are occasions when a customer's demand for water doesn't coincide with its availability. SRP's water exchange services can allow a customer to use SRP water, then replace the water used with water from a non-SRP source in the future.

Water supply consulting services

Successful water management often hinges on who you know as much as what you know. SRP not only has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the water business, but we also have working relationships with many of the major players.

Customers can use SRP's information and contacts to work for them via our water supply consulting services. We can bring parties together and assist in facilitating the sale or exchange of water. Also, we can provide customers with technical expertise in addressing their water management challenges.
