Wireline services

SRP Telecom offers carriers dark fiber – the fundamental ingredient for broadband networks that can support Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM), Ethernet, VOIP, and any foreseeable new optical technology.

We operate the largest and most geographically pervasive competitive fiber network in the Phoenix metropolitan area. We are the market's densest metropolitan area network, and one of the densest in the nation.

Unlike any other fiber network in our marketplace, SRP Telecom provides all of the following:

  • Reach. Our fiber spans a 2,900 square-mile electric service territory, spanning all or part of 15 cities. We literally have fiber from one end of metropolitan Phoenix to the other.
  • Flexibility. With our 950 route miles and 35,000 strand miles (numbers that continually grow), we create responsive solutions to specific network requirements, often with multiple route options.
  • Range. While we prefer ringed topologies for maintenance quality reasons, we can also provide point-to-point solutions, or extensions to your existing rings. We've delivered solutions ranging from a 150-plus route mile, multinode metropolitan area private dark fiber network, to a single 500 foot data center building entrance.

Your customers are our customers

Because our network is deployed and co-located along with our electric transmission system, most of your customers are customers of our electric business; as such, they're in close proximity to our fiber network.

Our fiber network serves 50 on-net commercial buildings and business campuses, including the facilities of some of the biggest names in corporate America.

Our network also reaches 20 central offices, switches and other carrier points-of-presence. These serve as a fundamental access and transport network for some of our carrier customers.

By coordinating new fiber build-out with our electric system expansion, we extend our network cost-effectively to new commercial building and customers – usually well ahead of other fiber providers.

Route diversity: a unique footprint

Sophisticated customers demand service provider and physical route diversity. Many competitive fiber networks in Phoenix are located in the same joint trench. This results in an abundance of fiber in these locations – but truly diverse solutions are more difficult to find.

Our fiber footprint is unique. Because it is routed primarily along SRP's high voltage electric system and enjoys SRP's rights-of-way and easements, as much as 90% of our network is distinct from other networks.

Bottom line: SRP fiber can differentiate your offering from that of other carriers.

telecom swooshFiber for Phoenix

SRP Telecom is singularly focused on Phoenix, one the fastest-growing markets in America. Phoenix has become an epicenter for the biotechnology, financial service and semiconductor industries.

Our network is within economic reach of many of the globally prominent businesses located in metropolitan Phoenix. Better still: We are fully prepared for market newcomers. Our electric system continually expands to meet Arizona's ever-increasing need. And our fiber system grows right alongside.

As such, SRP Telecom customers can quickly and confidently compete for new business on a network that grows as the market grows. If you acquire a fundamental metro network from SRP, you can incrementally expand your network by adding network or customer nodes. It's an efficient, cost-effective and common-sense approach to network expansion.
