Preventative electrical testing
Using state-of-the-art equipment, SRP can perform an on-site inspection of
your electrical equipment. We perform three tests, analyze the results and
provide you with a written report that details your equipment's condition,
and any necessary repairs.
Preventative electrical testing lets you find out if your equipment is running safely
and identifies problems before costly damage occurs.
Our Basic Plan service is typically performed at start-up and then repeated
annually, although a different interval can be chosen. It includes the following tests:
-
Infrared thermal imaging inspection:
Assesses whether abnormal heating conditions exist within your service equipment,
main switch gear and large transformers. Infrared scans often identify loose
connections, overloaded components and overheating that may be early signs
of equipment failure.
-
Grounding system integrity test:
Measures ground resistance and ensures your grounding electrodes
meet the requirements of the National Electrical Code. Improperly
installed or failing grounding systems can cause severe savety and
power quality problems throughout your facility.
-
Power quality and load monitoring:
Evaluates your overall power quality and load capability, including
power factor, current, voltage, imbalance and harmonic spectrum.

We also can customize your service by adding any combination of the following:
- Long-term power quality and load monitoring
- Ultrasonic inspection
- Transformer oil quality and dissolved gas analysis (DGA)
- PCB oil testing
- Insulation power factor test
- Meggar testing
- Transformer turns ratio (TTR) analysis.
