Innovative 'Living Zero Home Tour' visits Phoenix raceway
SRP customers given free opportunity to win refrigerator donated by GE
Making the 15th stop of its inaugural sixteen-city nationwide tour, The Living Zero Home Tour, with technical assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Energy and ENERGY STAR, will visit Phoenix International Raceway, November 12-15, 2009. "We've been fortunate to visit NASCAR venues and witness the close-knit nature of the sport and its community. Their events are a unique opportunity for us to engage consumers in a meaningful way," said Jordan Price, Tour Manager.
The Living Zero Home Tour is traveling from coast to coast to engage visitors in a fun, interactive setting to learn about energy efficiency and renewable energy. The functioning home is built using eco-friendly construction methods and displays numerous energy efficient features. To date, tens of thousands of visitors have been surprised to discover what small steps can be taken to drastically reduce personal energy consumption while saving on energy bills. These are not future technologies - all of them are available in stores now!
In this first of its kind home tour, visitors across the country are interacting with new energy saving appliances and learning about easy cost saving modifications and tax incentives. Over the course of its nearly 8,000 miles toured, the Living Zero Home has emphasized that making simple inexpensive changes like caulking and sealing doors, replacing old light bulbs with compact fluorescents, and installing programmable thermostats can have the greatest impact on a household energy bill.
During an exclusive viewing on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., SRP customers can enter a free raffle to win a new GE Profile refrigerator valued at $2,199.00.
This educational tour also demonstrates the effectiveness of a public-private partnership between General Electric, All American Homes, Planet Green, ENERGY STAR, The U.S. Department of Energy and SRP.
"SRP is a proud to be a partner of the Living Zero Home Tour. We are committed to providing an array of energy and water efficiency programs and products. We hope you will visit our display for energy and water savings tips during race weekend," said Lori Rogers, SRP's Energy Efficiency Marketing Program Manager.
