Let the sun power your home with SRP solar energy. At SRP, we know few things are as integral to our lives as the sun. It lights our sky, warms our bodies, and now can power your home. EarthWise Solar Energy is a program designed to help reduce the cost of installing a new solar electric or solar water heating for your home.

There are two ways to participate:

Solar water heater

SRP residential customers who install a solar water heating system qualify for a payment of $0.50/installed kWh (kilowatt hour) of energy savings, based on a OG-300 rating from the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation.

Here's an example of the costs and incentives associated with the installation of a solar water heating system:

  1. Costs may vary depending upon the contractor and materials you select.
  2. The Arizona tax credit is 25% of the cost, capped at $1,000.
  3. The federal tax credit is 30% of cost, capped at $2,000. This tax credit expires on 12/31/08.
  4. Savings are calculated based on an annual energy production of 2,600 kWh at $0.09 per kWh.

Solar electric system

When you install a solar electric system, SRP will help defray your cost with an incentive of $3 per watt, up to $60,000. Here's an example of the costs and incentives associated with the installation of a system:
