Congratulations to University of Phoenix

SRP customer University of Phoenix is making the largest corporate purchase of renewable energy credits in Arizona history through EarthWise RECs.

The purchase will offset 46.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity with clean, renewable energy to power 100% of the University's Phoenix facilities.

  • Set yourself apart from the crowd: Your customers will appreciate your environmental commitment – and we'll help you spread the word. SRP offers promotional incentives that increase in accordance with the amount of EarthWise RECs you purchase.
  • Create a market for green solutions:All of the money your business spends on EarthWise RECs will guarantee the electricity consumed is replaced with wind power.
  • Invest in the future: By signing up for EarthWise RECs, you improve the environment for future generations. It's a fact: Purchasing just six blocks of EarthWise RECs each month will reduce the same amount of carbon dioxide as a forest the size of a football field. (Source: EPA Power Profiler).

How to participate

EarthWise RECs are sold in 100-kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks. Each block you order costs just under $1 per month (93 cents) and will appear as an additional line item on your electric bill.

You can sign up for as many blocks as you like; two blocks would cost $1.86 per month, three blocks would cost $2.79 per month, and so on. Or you can choose to offset 100%, 50%, 25% or 10% of your energy usage. We can calculate this for you - just e-mail us at enviro@srpnet.com or call 602-236-4425. Please have your account number ready.

An average Arizona home uses 1,200 kWh hours per month. Therefore to offset this electricity usage with 100% renewable energy credits, 12 blocks would need to be purchased at a cost of $11.16 per month.

There are four participation levels for small and medium-sized companies:

  1. Visionary ($90 per month)
  2. Champion ($60 per month)
  3. Member ($30 per month)
  4. Participant ($3 per month)

Up to $30,000 in special promotions

SRP offers benefits to customers who purchase more than 30 blocks per month. View all the benefits (PDF) available to EarthWise REC business customers.

Companies participating at the Visionary level ($90 per month or more) are eligible to receive a recognition package worth approximately $30,000, including:

  • free advertising in publications such as The Arizona Republic
  • free assistance with publicizing your EarthWise Energy purchase to the media
  • additional, unique opportunities to promote your company and your environmental commitment to SRP's 800,000 customers.
