Copper Crossing Solar Ranch

SRP Community Solar participants offset their energy with power generated at Copper Crossing Solar Ranch, in Florence, Ariz. This state-of-the-art solar energy facility is expected to produce enough to power about 3,700 customers’ homes each year.

Copper Crossing went online in Sept. 2011. It features 66,000 solar panels spread across 144 acres and helps Phoenix area residents, businesses and schools in SRP territory offset their energy usage with solar.

Utility-scale solar power facilities generate more energy

Panels at Copper Crossing have an advantage because they are attached to a tracking system that follows the sun’s path. By moving throughout the day they produce up to 40% more energy than a stationary rooftop system.
