Meet the Hindenes Family

Eleven years ago Gary and Melinda Hindenes sold their condominium in California and headed east. They purchased a home in Chandler that was more than three times the size of the condo and received a surprise after they moved in.

"We had no idea that our larger home would require so much electricity to power everything," Melinda said. "We began using ceiling fans and bumping up the air conditioner setting to lower our energy costs."

"When we adjust our thermostat, set the pool pump timer and run the washer, dryer and dishwasher according to lower-priced off-peak hours, we save," Melinda said.
