Rebates

You must receive approval of your rebate application before initiating any project.

Because each project is different, savings are determined on a per-project basis. This requires that energy use be verified before and after installation to ensure savings were achieved and that you receive the full rebate.

Equipment rebates:

  • $0.11 per kilowatt-hour for the first year of electricity savings, up to 50% of the incremental cost

Facilities with compressed-air systems and large buildings often have an abundance of opportunities for energy savings. However, identifying them sometimes requires additional technical resources. As part of the Custom program, SRP offers a technical assessment for qualifying customers to uncover these opportunities and provides an analysis of the costs and savings associated with the identified projects.

Rebates for equipment and services under this program are limited to $200,000 per program year (May 1, 2011, through April 30, 2012). You can participate in multiple rebate programs for up to $300,000 in rebates each year.

Measures placed in service from Jan. 1, 2006, through Dec. 31, 2013, may also qualify for a federal tax deduction. Visit ENERGY STAR® for more details.

Technical assessment

In order to qualify for a technical assessment, you must:

  • Receive retail electric service from SRP and be on the E-61, E-63, E-65 or E-66 price plans

    OR
  • Have a compressed-air system greater than or equal to 100 horsepower (excluding backup)

The QSP will conduct a preliminary assessment to identify cost-effective opportunities for energy savings and determine which projects will have the greatest possible return on investment. The best options will be further evaluated during the technical assessment.

During the technical assessment, the QSP will:

  • Evaluate and analyze identified energy-saving projects
  • Determine the potential energy savings and estimate the project cost
  • Identify the number and severity of compressed-air system leaks (compressed-air assessments only)
  • Suggest maintenance, process and equipment improvements
  • Provide a report outlining the details of the assessment and identified measures

SRP will pay for 50% of the technical assessment (up to $15,000) and the remaining 50% if you implement the suggested improvements (additional $15,000 possible). Any additional costs are your responsibility.

With compressed-air system assessments, you must repair 50% of the identified leaks in order to be eligible for equipment rebates.

Program details

Equipment rebates are available to any customer who is served by a qualifying SRP retail electric commercial price plan for both retrofit and new-construction projects. Please refer to page five of the program manual for a list of eligible price plans.

Rebate requests will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until all funding has been committed. Once the available funds have been secured through reservations or other means, a waitlist will be put in place.

Customers must submit a commissioning plan for each project at the time of the rebate application and receive written approval from SRP before proceeding. Commissioning procedures will vary depending on the project. Commissioning costs are the responsibility of the customer. If the commissioning requirements are not met, the rebate may be reduced. SRP reserves the right to inspect the installed measures up to two years following installation as part of SRP's program evaluation.

For eligible expenses, limitations, exclusions and other program requirements, refer to the program manual.
