Save energy, water and money when you buy a
qualifying dishwasher or clothes washer
That 10-year-old machine in your kitchen or laundry room uses far more energy and water than today's super-efficient dishwashers and clothes washers. Conserving energy and water is important to living wisely in the desert.
In addition, you can save on your electric and water bills just by replacing your older dishwasher or clothes washer. And now, for a short time, SRP customers can receive a $20 to $75 cash rebate toward the purchase of super-efficient appliances.
What are the advantages of super-efficient appliances?
Qualifying appliances use less energy and water than standard models.
- Qualifying dishwashers use at least 40% less energy than the federal minimum standard for energy consumption.
- Qualifying clothes washers use 35% - 50% less water and about 50% less energy than conventional models.
The result? You save money on your utility bills, minimize your water use and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Clothes Washer Ratings:
- MEF: The Modified Energy Factor (MEF) measures energy consumption of the total laundry cycle, including drying. The higher the number, the greater the energy efficiency.
- WF: The Water Factor (WF) represents the number of gallons of water needed for each cubic foot of laundry. The lower the number, the more efficient the water use.
Dishwasher Rating:
- EF: The Energy Factor (EF) reflects the number of cycles per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The higher the number, the more efficient the dishwasher.
These super-efficient appliances are defined as the upper end of the ENERGY STAR® spectrum, based on their superior energy efficiency ratings. Some appliances may carry the ENERGY STAR label, but not all ENERGY STAR appliances qualify for this rebate. See the list of qualifying appliances for details:
