Dinosaur-Hunt 69kV project
SRP has confirmed the route for the Dinosaur-Hunt
69,000 volt (69kV) subtransmission line in your community.
To select the route, SRP gathered input from town and county officials and property owners. Also, SRP engineers considered a variety of factors, including future development, SRP's current and future electrical system needs, construction feasibility, maintainability, aesthetics and cost.
SRP chose the Central Arizona Project (CAP) Canal route to connect the Dinosaur receiving station to the Hunt substation. The line will be built along the future 500kV line adjacent to the CAP Canal, then head west on Skyline Drive to Meridian Road. This new line is under construction.
This map highlights the confirmed line route:

This new line and substation will bring additional electricity to your area to support growing demand. It will also help SRP continue providing the low-cost electricity you receive.
Property owners along the route will be notified in advance of construction activities.
SRP anticipates continued customer growth in the Queen Creek/Pinal County area. We will assess this growth on an ongoing basis, and will pursue new power line and substation projects as appropriate to ensure you receive reliable power.
As always, we strive to provide the community advance notice of new substations and subtransmission lines, and we will continue to provide opportunities for the public to provide input on new facilities.
