Customer responsibilities

  1. SRP requires the customer to install a restricted access switch (RAS) on each existing or proposed main and guest entry gates(s) and restricted exit gate(s) that provides continuous 24-hour access.
  2. The RAS must be wired to the gate controller no more than six inches from the telephone entry box.
  3. The RAS will be installed by the customer's gate service company and maintained according to SRP Specifications. The maintenance specifications are that it is maintained in working order for our field personnel. If the RAS becomes inoperable, then it is the customer's responsibility to make the necessary repairs.
  4. The RAS installation configuration may be either horizontal or vertical. See examples.
  5. Customers are required to provide a RAS to activate the controller of opening electric restricted exits.
    1. This may require the installation of an additional RAS assembly inside the gate.
  6. After the RAS is energized, the customer's technician tests the system by actuating the momentary micro-switch. After verifying it works correctly, the customer's technician installs tamperproof screws. The test is outlined further in the installation instructions.
  7. SRP inspects the RAS installation for placement and tests the installation to ensure it is operating properly.
