Whether it means providing financial support to hundreds of nonprofit organizations
and events, mobilizing our remarkable volunteer force for neighborhood projects,
or leading the way in environment-friendly technologies, SRP is proud to help
Arizona shine.
Community outreach is the hallmark of SRP's corporate culture. We believe in a bright
future for the communities we serve and we are committed to invest our time, resources and energy into the programs, projects and events that make Arizona a great place to live.
The following areas play key roles in SRP's community outreach efforts:

Volunteerism: SRP's employee volunteer organization is nationally recognized as a model of innovation and effectiveness. In addition to giving time to charitable organizations, SRP employees give more than $1 million per year to non-profit organizations. SRP also received the coveted Award for Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs for 2007 from the Points of Light Foundation.

Educational resources for teachers and students: More than 200,000 students are impacted by education programs originated by SRP each year. SRP helps Arizona students become the best and brightest they can be by providing educational grants, curriculum
support for teachers and a host of additional resources for students and educators alike.

Corporate contributions: SRP is proud to support key facets of Arizona's non-profit community, including human service, civic, education, environmental and arts & culture initiatives.

Environmental leadership:
In addition to its comprehensive renewable energy portfolio, SRP sponsors many events that promote environmental awareness. Included in SRP's environmental programs are Mowing Down Pollution and SRP's Enviro Tech Fair students.

Safety education: SRP is widely recognized for its commitment to safety-related initiatives, including electric and water safety.
In addition, SRP is pleased to sponsor many special offers and events in the communities it serves.
SRP has a long and rich history in supporting the economic development of the Phoenix metropolitan area and the state of Arizona.

Following are a just a few of SRP's community outreach projects and partnerships:

Homeward Bound: Homeward Bound is a transitional housing program for homeless and domestic violence families with children in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. Homeward Bound is recognized as the largest provider of transitional housing in Arizona. Our mission is to assist families achieve economic independence, secure long-term, safe, decent, affordable housing and break multi-generational cycles of homelessness and domestic violence.

Mesa Arts Center: The Mesa Arts Center represents a major committment to the arts in our community, and a core component of revitalization in the City of Mesa. The Mesa Arts Center serves more than 315,000 patrons annually who enjoy world-class dance, music, theater and art exhibits.

Arizona Foundation for Resource Education: The Arizona Foundation for Resource Education (AFRE) provides high-quality, engaging and intellectually stimulating professional development opportunities for Arizona K-12 teachers, administrators and informal educators. Through hands-on experiences and workshops, educators develop a greater understanding of our state's unique natural resources and related industries.
In addition, AFRE helps teachers and administrators develop professional and leadership skills that can positively impact student achievement at the school and district level.

Association of Arizona Food Banks: The Association of Arizona Food Banks supports and coordinates the efforts of its eight-member food banks statewide as they provide emergency and supplemental food programs. Last year during the annual SRP Holiday Food Drive, SRP employees raised money and donations equaling over 80,000 cans. This food assisted the food banks to feed more than 20,000 families during the holiday season.

Valle del Sol: Valle del Sol is the premier agency focused on behavioral health, social services, leadership, and advocacy while inspiring positive change by investing in human services, strengthening self-sufficiency for families, and building the next generation of Latino leaders. SRP is proud to support the Valle del Sol's Hispanic Leadership Alumni Program which provides continued leadership development for alumni.
