Whether it means providing financial support to hundreds of nonprofit organizations
and events, mobilizing our remarkable volunteer force for neighborhood projects,
or leading the way in environment-friendly technologies, SRP is proud to help
Arizona shine.
Community outreach is the hallmark of SRP's corporate culture. We believe in a bright
future for the communities we serve, and we are committed to invest our time, resources and energy into the programs, projects and events that make Arizona a great place to live.
The following areas play key roles in SRP's community outreach efforts:

Volunteerism: SRP's employee volunteer organization is nationally recognized as a model of innovation and effectiveness. In addition to giving time to charitable organizations, SRP employees give more than $1 million per year to nonprofit organizations. SRP also received the coveted Award for Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs for 2007 from the Points of Light Foundation.

Educational resources for teachers and students: More than 200,000 students are affected by educational programs originated by SRP each year. SRP helps Arizona students become the best and brightest they can be by providing educational grants, curriculum
support for teachers and a host of additional resources for students and educators alike.

Corporate contributions: SRP is proud to support key facets of Arizona's nonprofit community, including human service, civic, education, environmental, and arts and culture initiatives.

Environmental leadership:
In addition to its comprehensive renewable energy portfolio, SRP supports many programs that promote environmental awareness. Included in SRP's environmental partnerships are Solar for Schools and the Global Climate Change Academy.

SRP Safety Connection: SRP is widely recognized for its commitment to safety-related initiatives, including electric and water safety.
In addition, SRP is pleased to sponsor many special offers and events in the communities it serves.
SRP has a long and rich history in supporting the economic development of the Phoenix metropolitan area and the state of Arizona.

Following are a just a few of SRP's community outreach projects and partnerships:

University of Arizona (UA) Foundation College of Medicine, Phoenix: This full, four-year program was dedicated in October 2006. It is an expansion of the program that began in 1992 and offered third- and fourth-year medical students the opportunity to complete their training at Phoenix-area hospitals. The campus also is home to the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the Arizona Biomedical Collaborative, a joint research venture of the UA, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. The increasing number of doctors and health care professionals in the Phoenix area will allow for the staffing necessary to meet the health care needs of SRP electric customers, water shareholders and employees.
- Center for Teacher Success: This organization helps improve the academic achievement of all Arizona K-12 public school students by elevating the professional performance of their teachers and education leaders.
- Homeward Bound: Homeward Bound is a transitional housing program for homeless and domestic violence families with children in metropolitan Phoenix. Homeward Bound is recognized as the largest provider of transitional housing in Arizona. Its mission is to assist families achieve economic independence, secure long-term, safe, decent, affordable housing, and break multigenerational cycles of homelessness and domestic violence.

Phoenix Art Museum: A premier cultural institution in the Southwest, the Phoenix Art Museum is home to an outstanding collection of more than 18,000 works of American, Asian, European, Latin American, Western American, modern and contemporary art, and fashion design. It also presents festivals, live performances, independent art films and educational programs for people of all ages.

Community in Schools of Arizona: This organization serves students in Arizona with academic enrichment, social advocacy and vocational education since 1994. Its mission is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people learn, stay in school and prepare for life.

Association of Arizona Food Banks: The Association of Arizona Food Banks supports and coordinates the efforts of its five-member food banks statewide as they provide emergency and supplemental food programs. Last year during the annual SRP holiday food drive, SRP employees raised money and donations equaling over 80,000 cans. This allowed the food banks to feed more than 20,000 families during the holiday season.

Valle del Sol: Valle del Sol is the premier agency focused on behavioral health, social services, leadership, and advocacy while inspiring positive change by investing in human services, strengthening self-sufficiency for families, and building the next generation of Latino leaders. SRP is proud to support Valle del Sol's Hispanic Leadership Alumni Program, which provides continued leadership development for alumni.
