"A Little Bit of Water," as performed by the Childsplay theater company, is the tale
of a river in the desert. Developed in collaboration with Audubon Arizona, the play
recounts how life came to the river: plants, birds and animals, followed by Native
peoples, then pioneers and farmers.
It also relates how it is not enough for the river to adapt to man, but that man must
adapt to life in the desert. If you think this sounds like a familiar story, it is,
as it closely parallels the history of Arizona and the role all of us play in our state's future.
This message of sustainability and environmentally responsible lifestyle choices is a valuable
lesson for all Arizonans, and one we at SRP were eager to support through our funding of
this theater production. As the play emphasizes, as Arizonans, it's our responsibility
to make "A Little Bit of Water" go a long way.
