St. Johns Equestrian Trail

St. Johns Equestrian TrailThe Equestrian Trail in St. Johns, Arizona, is a unique community resource.

St. Johns is home to SRP's Coronado Generating Station, where retiree Carol Lawrence once worked. Still active in the community, Carol, a horse lover, wished to help renovate the trail, which has served as a recreational resource and economic engine for more than 20 years. SRP's Employee Community Service (ECS) Grant program puts vital resources in the care of community-minded employees who wish to make a difference with a nonprofit effort close to their heart, and for Carol, the program provided a great opportunity. With an ECS grant, Carol was able to create a new gravel track to address years of erosion, and build new jumping obstacles to replace older equipment that was no longer safe due to weathering and age.

Carol estimates the renovated equestrian trail should serve the community for another 20 years, and with supporters like her, we don't doubt that will be the case.
