A strong workforce is the heart of a vibrant economy. The 15 communities of the western part of the Valley that make up the Western Maricopa Coalition (WESTMARC) work together to find solutions to common challenges and improve the quality of life in the area.

While companies often cite the cost, availability and quality of labor as determinants of their expansion or relocation plans, such information has not been readily available for the west Valley. As workforce issues are key to the success of Arizona’s economy, SRP joined with WESTMARC to cosponsor the West Valley Workforce and Labor Market Survey, which collected extensive information on the region’s workforce – its strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.

This information is an important resource as the leaders, communities and businesses of the west Valley seek to create better opportunities for members of the workforce and employers alike.
