Arizona State Parks 50th Anniversary
Arizona is a land of unparalleled natural wonders, ranging from the majesty of the Grand Canyon, to the lush greenery of the high country, to the stark beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
For 50 years, the Arizona State Parks Department has preserved the state's natural areas while promoting recreational use in harmony with the environment. SRP and the State Parks Department have a long-standing relationship, originating in 1957 with the creation of Papago Park, which adjoins the property of SRP's home offices. SRP volunteers once again partnered with the department for golden anniversary celebrations at various state parks throughout Arizona.
As SRP's mission is one of stewardship, our partnership with the State Parks Department commemorates a half-century of ensuring that we are all good stewards of our state's natural treasures.
