SRP Budget Billing
You don't need a crystal ball to predict your energy bills. SRP Budget Billing™ is a no-cost program that balances the
seasonal highs and lows of your bill to make your payments
predictable each month. It can make household budgeting easier
because the amount of your SRP bill can remain constant throughout the year.
How it works
SRP totals your annual energy cost for the previous year and divides it by 12.
The result is your monthly payment amount.
We then take this amount and factor in two other variables:
- The time of year you enroll in Budget Billing:
- The ideal time to enroll is
during the winter months, when
bills are typically their
lowest.
This gives you time
to build up a credit to offset
your higher summer bills.
Customers enrolling in the
spring or summer months can
expect their payment amount
to be significantly higher
until the account is reviewed
again at the start of winter.
- Any recent or pending pricing changes:
- SRP will review your account periodically and make adjustments to your payment amount to reflect significant, unexpected changes in usage or to reflect changes in electricity prices since your payment amount was last established.
- If you are new to your home, you may enroll in Budget Billing, but SRP will estimate your monthly payment based on the size of your home. To receive this estimate, please call Residential Customer Services at (602) 236-8888.
In the example below, if your summer bills averaged approximately $225 per month, the payments may be approximately $130 every month with SRP Budget Billing.
Things to note
- Your account must be at a zero balance to enroll.
- Your enrollment in Budget Billing will be canceled if you miss two payments.
- If you have 12 months' previous billing history with SRP, you can see an estimate of what your monthly payments might be on Budget Billing. Just log in to SRP My Account™ and click on "Payment and Usage History." If you are a new SRP
customer, call (602) 236-8888 to receive this estimate.
