Capacity: 575 megawatts from 12 single-cycle turbine units.

Plant construction: Construction began in August 2009 and was completed in May 2011.

Construction costs: $500 million

Benefits:

  • Coolidge is designed to respond in 10 minutes with enough electricity to meet peak power demands.
  • The station can provide enough electricity to power approximately 575,000 homes in the Valley.
