SRP ranks highest in the West
SRP ranked "Highest in Customer Satisfaction With Residential Electric Service in the Western U.S.," according
to a study by J.D. Power and Associates. Results of the study were released July 26, 2007.
SRP is the only
electric utility that has been ranked among the top 10 utilities in the West by J.D. Power and Associates in all
nine of the years it has conducted the study.
The study, designed and independently financed by J.D. Power and Associates, is the only standardized measure of
satisfaction available for the electric residential utility industry. Based on 29,042 telephone responses from
residential electric utility customers throughout the U.S. from March to June of 2007, the study compared the 76 largest electric utilities,
collectively serving some 94 million households.
SRP's overall highest ranking was evaluated by these factors: customer service, power quality and reliability,
price and value, communications, billing and payment, and company image, the study found.
SRP received an overall customer satisfaction index of 772 in the 2007 Electric Utility Residential Customer
Satisfaction Study, the highest score in the West.
"This is a tremendous achievement and we have our customers and our employees to thank for this honor," said
SRP President John Williams. "Our customers support us and believe in our dedication to providing top-quality
customer service and our employees make that service happen in a very real way through their hard work and
commitment."
The rankings from the J.D. Power and Associates study are
based on a compilation of areas, including power quality and reliability, company image, price and value, billing
and payment, communications and customer service. The West region covers Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho,
Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
SRP is the largest provider of electricity to the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, providing electric service
to about 925,000 customers. SRP also is the metropolitan area's largest supplier of water, delivering about 1
million acre-feet to agricultural, urban and municipal water users.
