Economic development: success stories
SRP proudly provides electricity to some of the largest corporations in the world, including Intel, Motorola, Boeing, Countrywide Financial Services and others.
SRP's diverse business customer base is comprised of grocery stores, small manufacturers, data centers, customer service centers, and small proprietorships, just to name a few. You do not have to be a Fortune 100 company in order to receive superior customer service from SRP's team of experts.
Portola Packaging Inc (Portola) can testify to SRP's superior service. Portola is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of tamper evident plastic closures used in dairy, bottled water, sports and fruit drinks, and institutional food products.
After consolidating several existing plants, they began operations in Tolleson, Ariz. in the first quarter of 2004. Working closely with SRP's economic development professionals in 2002 enabled Portola to successfully meet its scheduled opening date. All reconfigurations and electrical upgrades were completed in a timely manner and cost estimates were accurate.
SRP's key account management continues to provide excellent service to Portola and meets periodically with the company to make sure all needs are being met. We continually evaluate various options to assist Portola in controlling electrical costs.
Portola executive David Coffey could not say enough about SRP's continued customer service. "Many companies promise to provide continued customer service; however, SRP delivers," said Coffey. "SRP's account representatives are helpful and do more than simply 'check in' periodically. They provide valuable insight regarding price plans, energy-efficient lighting options, and energy audits, just to name a few. They truly are a partner."
