SRP offers three medical options: a preferred provider organization (PPO) and two health maintenance organizations (HMO).
The PPO is a network of medical providers (including physicians, hospitals, laboratories) contracted with SRP to provide health care services and supplies at agreed-upon discounted/reduced rates. If you choose the SRP Medical PPO you may use services of in-network and out-of-network providers. The SRP Medical PPO offers a choice of deductibles and individual out-of-pocket maximums. The SRP Medical PPO is self-funded.
CIGNA HealthCare of Arizona (CIGNA), an HMO, provides fully insured coverage. CIGNA requires that you use a CIGNA Health Center for regular health care by their physicians and health professionals.
UnitedHealthCare (UHC), an HMO, provides fully insured coverage. UHC allows you to use any health care provider listed in their network.

SRP offers two dental options: the SRP dental plan and the Employers Dental Services Plan (EDS). The SRP dental plan, which is self-funded, allows you to choose any licensed dental care provider for your care. EDS is similar in structure to a medical HMO and is a fully insured prepaid option for dental care. EDS requires you to use the services of the licensed dental care providers who contract with EDS.
You may also choose to have no dental coverage.

Short-term disability (STD) is designed to help you fill the gap between accumulated sick leave and long-term disability (long-term disability pays only after absences of 90 days or more). The STD benefit is equal to 60% of your base pay and is payable after you have used your sick leave or after a 21-calendar-day waiting period.
Employees pay the cost of STD benefits the first two paychecks each month throughout the year.

A Tax Saver Account (TSA) allows you to pay for certain kinds of expenses with before-tax dollars. There are two types of TSAs: one for health care expenses and one for dependent day care expenses. You choose the amount you wish to have deducted before-tax from your paycheck, up to plan limits. With a TSA you can use before-tax dollars to pay expenses you would normally pay with after-tax earnings.

SRP's open enrollment period is during the month of November. During this time, employees may change medical or dental plans, add or delete dependent benefits, enroll in a tax saver account or add or cancel short-term disability coverage. Retirees and others enrolled in SRP medical or dental coverage may change coverage or add or delete dependent benefits.
